A little bit of Yellow Mustard

Everything tastes better with French’s Yellow Mustard, no!?!?!?

At this moment I’m emotionally spent. This past Sunday my stress anxiety and panic collided; I smacked head first into a mack truck. Full on episode w/ no control. The first in a very very long time.  Thankfully, with the powermen duo assistance of Goose and Daddy-o my tears are now every few hours and my brain is regaining its composure.

May this be a ‘release’ post of randomness with a little bit French’s!!!

I have been having loads of fun e-logging my wedding planning journey. It’s a blast to have random followers, to receive messages asking where I learn about this and that or how I know of certain details etc… Unfortunately, I don’t have sound  answers. This journey is 90% trial and error.

Seconds after Goose and I became engaged I had an internal panic moment. I didn’t know what to do, where to begin, and who to ask for help. I was receiving questions such as - what’s the date, where are you having it, will you have a ceremony spot then a receptions spot, how many guests do you want, etc … They were fair questions…I should have answered, “we’re going to celebrate and enjoy this time and when we know details we’ll begin to share them…”  Should have, could have, would have, DIDN’T…

The thing is folks - - I didn’t know where the eff to begin.  The first thing that popped into my bridal brain was – I needed a wedding planner.  OK, come on - I know I had a budget, was a wedding planner from day 1 w/in my budget? Um yeah, NO!  After some fierce internet surfing I realized I didn’t need a wedding planner I needed to find a time line that suits me.  Enter Real Simple & The Knot Wedding Planning Time Lines.  These time lines broke it down for me - - what I needed to book and when.  Thus our journey began…Date, check.  Budget, check. Venue, check. Photographer, check. Music, check. Florist, check. Colors, check. Paper, check. Honeymoon, check. Transportation, check - - - and then came the dreaded WPW, check.  I got the big stuff outta the way and didn’t need to do anything for 3 months, WWHHHAAAAATTTT…Yeah according to my time line I had gotten too much done too soon.  How did I know it wouldn't take me that long?  I didn't, it just happened that way.

During my WPW I became close pals w/ all wedding dot coms. I learned how to find inspiration for different details via the BLOGOSPHERE.  For color I learned about The Perfect Palette.  For dreamy wedding inspiration I learned about Style Me Pretty, Once Wed, Green Wedding Shoes.  For real weddings that I can relate to I turn(ed) to Project Wedding and then go to their Real Weddings section.  For my all time favorite in the whole world - live chat trouble shooting I go to, the  Weddingbee community. This is a community that I suggest every engaged gal be a part of.  Heck you don't have to be engaged you can be a bridesmaid or a vendor, or an already bride - just join dammit, LOL.

What did I do and what do I do on all of these sites? I steal pictures. I gather inspiration.  I look at hairstyles I like. I find makeup inspiration.  I find bouquets and boutonniere inspiration.  I look at venue lighting.  I look at body glow on the brides, are they wearing self tanner, shimmer lotion, soft body oil, etc...I look at reception details.  I ask questions. I answer questions if I've already had the experience.

Those are my answers dear followers.  Those are my secret tools. My daily free of charge resources.  I hope they help you in ways they have helped me. If you get a chance browse through my "Daily Reads" list to the right of this post, there are more blogs that offer wonderful inspiration.

Aw, this wedding journey is lovely, pure joy.  Like having a sandwich, dry w/ Yellow Mustard only.

  1. A true, full-on break down is sometimes needed! Props to you for all the time you've spent getting inspiration! In fact, you inspire us all to have your ambition and admiration for details! It will all pay off and your wedding will be off the hook!
