Welcome, Guests

I am sure I have mentioned it in past posts, (not sure where exactly) but I’ll refresh your memory, mine definitely needs a lot of refreshing lately.

Our wedding fell under the ‘destination’ category.  While Goosers and I live in Seattle, 90% of our guests required advanced travel (air) arrangements. How lucky are we? 90% of our guests made our one day Sunday evening wedding a weekend getaway – I’d say we’re pretty gosh darn lucky!

We chose 2 hotels located in the heart of Seattle.  Our preferred hotel, was a chic boutique hotel that played host to the Rehearsal Dinner, Out Of Town Welcome Reception, and our Farewell Brunch.  The second hotel was along the waterfront, offering spectacular views and points to any Marriott member =)

Once our guests arrived at their hotel they were greeted with one of these:

To add a personal touch, I hand wrote a note on the back side of each tag.

Once opened, they found two of all food items (Quaker Granola bar not pictured,) a weekend activities run down card, a wedding day transportation info card, a mini Moo card (w/ our engagement pix on them,) which told them how to view our wedding pix on our photog’s site....

And last but not least, Seattle maps and Tourist attraction details. Explore Guests, Explore!!!

These Welcome Boxes were a huge hit! Our guests checked out the Picasso exhibit at SOMA, they took the Ferry to Bainbridge Island, they road the monorail to the Space Needle, and they even took the Metro to Red Mill Burgers, bc Oprah said you must eat one of their burgers before you die!

If you have vendors that are from out of town, don't forget a Welcome Box for them too =)

All in all this was a DIY project success, and I am thrilled our guests took advantage of a few of the jewels hidden in this Emerald City!!!
