Flower Floof

I don’t know the first thing there is to know about flowers. You gift me flowers I add water to a vase add the flowers then they die and get thrown out. I think they are nice, not pretty, not beautiful, not breath taking just nice. I don’t really get them to be honest. Yes, they set a tone and a mood and some people find it quite therapeutic to garden. For me they are what they are, flowers – Period!

When it came time to meet with the florist I was excited yet not excited at the same time. I was excited to check this off my ‘to do’list – I was not excited to answer a series of questions for which I had no answers. I told Meghan (our florist) exactly what I’ve told you above – I know nothing about flowers. Please don’t ask what kind of flowers I like because I don’t know. I gave her our color inspiration and told her I would like flowers within our palette. I also told her that I wish to have a modern contemporary twist – I want flowers spray painted if they can, I want feathers incorporated as well as crystals. I want something she has never created and will never duplicate!

Over time I have gotten a little bit more into flowers. I like dark lilies and dark dahlias. I like clean lines with a little bit of pop. The pop can be silver or white. No frilly colors.
