I am active participant in this wedding blogosphere and today I made a new friend, we’ll call her Jennifer. Jennifer sent me a PM re: the size of my STD’s.  Did you get that? You read that last sentence and comprehend all of it, half of it, none of it or you’re laughing thinking, “what is MAH talking about…”

I re-read Jennifer’s PM and laughed – the wedding world envelops its own language, a language filled with acronyms. On a daily basis I am discussing BM’s, BS, or STD’s - but they aren’t what you think they are…

BP – Bridal Party or Bachelor(ette) Party
CM – Catering manager

DOC – “Day Of” Coordinator (A wedding planner hired for just the wedding day.)
DW – Dear Wife or Destination Wedding
EP – Engagement Party
ER – Engagement Ring
FBIL – Future Brother-In-Law
FFIL – Future Father-In-Law
FG – Flower Girl
FH – Future Husband

FMIL – Future Mother-In-Law
